Car Park Spaces Maximisation - Arkleston
2025-12-16 • No comments • • Cllr Ward 2 • Renfrew & Gallowhill
Residents in the Arkleston Estate have raised ongoing concerns about parking pressures within Housing Department–owned car parks. Many of these car parks are currently unlined, leading to inefficient use of space, blocked access, and avoidable neighbour disputes.
This project would fund the lining and marking of parking bays across identified Housing-owned car parks in Arkleston. The aim is to maximise the number of usable spaces, improve safety and access, and make parking fairer and clearer for residents.
This is a one-off improvement that would deliver a long-term benefit to tenants without creating ongoing costs.

Grippers within the closes & stairs - Leven Square & Creran Drive

When the weather turns cold as well as wet the inside of majority tenement closes within Kirklandneuk become very wet and slippery due to condensation etc. Looking for some sort of grippers to be put down on the stairs within all closes to prevent any potential accidents or falls as it is a risk to current tenants and owners. Requests have been submitted to repairs department but they have advised they will not do this.
Access Path - Netherhill Road

McGill's moved their bus route and now people have to walk a longer route to get to the bus stop at the Community Centre. There are grass banks in the middle of the road, which people have to cross over to get there. It would help if there was an access path to let people cross over without having to walk on the grass.
Slabbed area for bins
2025-12-03 • No comments • • Housing Officer • Renfrew & Gallowhill
Slabbed area to be created at the open grass space at Fulbar Street, Renfrew as currently they are sitting at the front of the tenement blocks on the pavement and restricting access to people getting by. There is no space for the bins in the rear of gardens. If the bins are moved to the side of the building on the open space on top of slabs it would clear the pavement allowing wheelchair users and people with prams to get by at ease as well as prevent further complaints from tenants within the buildings where the bins currently sit infront of.

Get the council gardens kept cleaned up and tidy. Local shops need to be held accountable regarding state of rubbish which is causing a knock of effect of attracting vermin
place is needing tided up and streets cleaned
