Project Summary

Bin Hubs and Additional Bollards to tackle Fly Tipping

Project Description

The land to the rear of 6, 8 and 10 Lomond Gardens has become a persistent hotspot for fly tipping and the accumulation of rubbish. The area is regularly being used to dispose of waste inappropriately, which has a negative impact on the local environment, creates an eyesore for residents, and increases estate management and cleansing costs. To address these ongoing issues, I propose the removal of the existing bin storage arrangements and the installation of two secure bin hubs. This will provide a more controlled and organised waste disposal area, helping to reduce the opportunity for litter and bulk waste to accumulate. In addition, I recommend the installation of additional bollards by the entrance at 6 Lomond Gardens entrance to prevent unauthorised vehicle access. Restricting vehicle entry will help deter individuals from depositing bulky items and household waste in the area, thereby reducing incidents of fly tipping. To improve the area/lane, an environmental clean of the full lane is also proposred.
