YouDecide Tenants lets residents within Renfrewshire submit ideas to improve their area and community - then our tenants can vote for their favourites! 

The Council has set aside £150,000 for 2025-2026 from our Housing Revenue Account, which will be used to deliver projects across Renfrewshire in areas owned and managed by our Housing Service. The money has been split evenly between the four Local Housing Area Teams, giving £37,500 to each area.

You can submit project ideas for any of the four areas, but you can only vote within your own area and if you are a Council tenant. The winning projects will all have been chosen by tenants in that area.

So, we are looking for tenants, residents and people in your area to tell us what they'd like and how this would improve their neighbourhood. Projects will be assessed against a set criteria and any projects which meet the criteria will be sent to local suppliers for costing. We will review all ideas before opening the tenant vote in February 2026. Winning projects will be announced in March 2026.

Applications will open on 10th November 2025 and close on 21st December 2025.

If you have an idea, please make sure you have read and understood the criteria for the types of projects that can be submitted. Ideas can be anything including fences and gates, landscaping and gardening, or even new security lighting. All ideas are welcome, big or small. What's your idea?

We are hosting events in your local area from 10th November 2025 onwards. Come along and speak to the team who can answer any questions you may have, help you create an account and even get your ideas submitted on the day.

Submit your ideas before midnight on 21st December 2025.

• Read the criteria (this will help make sure your idea can be considered).
• Log in using your username and password that has been issued or create an account using your email address.
• You can submit as many project ideas as you like for consideration.

We'd encourage you to submit your ideas early, so we can support you through the process. 

Renfrewshire Council tenants will receive a letter in the post with a username and password. This can be used to log in and submit your ideas and will be used to vote for your favourite projects.

Not a Council tenant? Don't worry, you can create an account using your email address and submit your ideas too.

Project Costing

January 25, 2026 - February 01, 2026

All your ideas have been assessed against the criteria. If your idea has not met the criteria then you will have been notified. 

If your idea has met the criteria, then we have sent it to our local suppliers for costing. 

Once we have received accurate costing for each project, we will open the tenant vote.

February 02, 2026 - March 01, 2026

Voting will not open until February 2026.

Tenants, it's now time to vote for your favourite ideas! 

Please log in using your username and password that was issued to you. If you do not have your log in, please come along to one of our voting events, where our team can assist you. 

Review all the ideas in your area. You can vote for as many ideas as you want, up to the maximum of £37,500.

To help us deliver as many projects as we can, please ensure that you have used your maximum votes.
