YouDecide Tenants lets residents within Renfrewshire submit ideas to improve their area and community - then our tenants can vote for their favourites!

For year 2, the Council has set aside £250,000 for 2026-2027 from our Housing Revenue account, which will be used to deliver projects across Renfrewshire in areas owned and managed by our Housing Services. The money has been split evenly between the four local housing area teams. Renfrew and Gallowhill, Johnstone and Villages, Paisley North and Paisley South will have £62,500 each.

You can submit projects in any of the four areas. You can only vote for projects in your own area and if you are a Council tenant. So, we are looking for tenants, residents and people in your area to tell us what they'd like to improve their areas. Projects will be assessed against a set criteria. Suggestions which meet the criteria, will be sent for costing. We will review all ideas before opening the tenant vote in November 2026. Winning projects will be announced in January 2027. 

Applications will open on Monday 6th July 2026 and close on Sunday 27th September 2026.

If you have an idea, please make sure you have read and understood the criteria for the types of projects that can be submitted. Ideas that improve the buildings or surrounding environment of Housing owned land are all welcome, big or small. Please ensure your idea includes a finished project, that is deliverable. For example, instead of saying 'tidy up the bins' why not suggest 'slabbing to create a designated bin area.' This will help us to understand the scope of the project when we come to costing.

The application stage is now over, and we're reviewing all your ideas ahead of the tenant vote.

Our reviewers will check each idea meets the criteria and can pass to the voting stage.

We may contact you to discuss your submission or ask for more information before it can be progressed. Make sure to keep checking your inbox, junk and spam folders just in case!

Project Costing

October 18, 2026 - November 07, 2026

All ideas have now been assessed against the criteria. If your idea has not met the criteria, you will have been notified. 

If your idea has met the criteria, then we have sent it to our local suppliers for costing.

Once we have received accurate costing for all projects, we will then open the tenant vote.

November 08, 2026 - January 09, 2027

Tenants, it's now time to vote for your favourite ideas!

Please log in using your username and password that was issued to you. If you do not have your login, please contact the team at youdecide@renfrewshire.gov.uk or come along to one of our voting events, where our team can assist you.

• To help us deliver as many projects as we can, you can vote for as many projects as you want, up to £62,500.
• Simply select the 'Vote' button next to the projects you like.
• Once you have selected all your favourites, please sign out.
